Religion

As Scripture says, 'Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen' (Hebrews 11:1).

You may believe in a God with form or a formless God, but your faith must be genuine and complete. It is through faith alone that one achieves everything.

There cannot be a number of religions in the realm of spirituality. Instead, there is only one religion, the religion of humanity. Religion means only to realise God and then love each and every human being. There may be many sects, but religion remains one.

This alone is Śiva, this alone is Śiva, this alone is Śiva, this alone is Śiva — by my authority, by my authority, by my authority, by my authority.

Non-injury is the highest religion, the greatest penance, and the ultimate truth from which all duties arise.

Regardless of their inherent nature, these things cannot help him love God as much as the smallest act of living faith and hope, which is done with selflessness and detachment from all things.

My advice is to not strive for supernatural powers or rapid Kundalini awakening. Instead, cultivate devotion to God, have complete faith in Him, and embody a spirit of service to humanity. The Kundalini will awaken naturally.

Let people act according to their faith.

Everything we do, including rituals and rites, is useless without knowledge of God.

True religion teaches us to come together, rise above all kinds of discrimination, and treat all beings as children of the same Supreme Father, serving and loving them selflessly and genuinely.

People quarrel over the very name of God. A man who describes the Almighty as Ram is found to be always ready to quarrel with the other who calls it Allah. Why do they fight when Ram and Allah are one and the same? This is so because we have not allowed the divine light to enter our minds, enter our lives.

In truth there is only one religion. On the path of spirituality there can be no different religions; rather there is only one religion, and that is the religion of humanity, the religion of man. To know God and to love every human being — that alone is religion. Sects may be many, but religion is one. Mankind is of one caste, the human caste; and man has one religion, the religion of humanity.

All human beings in the world have soul in them. In terms of soul, they are all equal. A person who works for the division of humanity cannot be known as religious. He remains irreligious because religion always unites.

Religion (Dharma) means to acquire - to acquire the truth. One who acquires the truth, who is broadminded and who loves all human beings created by God, is the man of religion.

We are not the saviours of religion. In fact it is the religion that saved us. It is the religion that saves us. Religion is only a means to merge this soul with the Super Soul, a means to purify ourselves. Such a religion is never in danger.

Religion, however, does never induce us to fight. The real cause of disputes is the ignorance about the true religion. One who comes to know the true religion and follows it, can never become a cause of dispute.

How can a person be a great religious man, if he causes suffering to others, hates them and feels jealous? It is very essential that in the first instance we should imbibe goodness and humanity. Without this, nobody is religious, nobody is good.

What we require is only to incorporate God in our lives - not merely to make a mention of God. If religious people are found to have any dispute or clash, their reason too is the ignorance about God. Once they come to know God, these disputes will end automatically.

This Supreme Power is One. The same is called Allah, the same is called Ram, the same is called Waheguru. Once reality is known, all distinction is erased, and there remains no quarrel in the name of God. Religion is only one: humanity itself is religion.

With a vision of God-knowledge, even distant people appear to be close by. This is the real religion, the religion that brings man closer to man, the religion that unites humanity.
