Sin

Time is more precious than money, and more valuable than anything in the world. It's the greatest treasure, the essence of life. Use time wisely for spiritual growth, and don't waste a single moment.

Whoever hears my words and believes in the one who sent me will have eternal life, will never be condemned for their sins, and has transitioned from death to life.

The Blessed Lord said: It is desire — it is anger — arising from the quality of rajas: all-devouring and deeply sinful. Know this to be the enemy here.

Arjuna said: Then what is it that impels a person to commit sin, O Varshneya, even unwillingly — as if driven by force?

But if you will not fight this righteous battle, then you will abandon your own duty and honour and incur sin.

It is far better to live in this world on alms than to slay these great and noble teachers. For if I kill them, though they hunger for worldly gain, all pleasures I would taste in life would be stained with their blood.

Even if you were the most sinful among all sinners, you would cross over all transgression on the raft of knowledge alone.

O Partha, one who in this world does not follow along with this turning wheel, who lives only for sensory delight — that sinful one lives in vain.

Alas! How terrible it is that we are resolved to commit such a great sin, driven by greed for royal pleasures, bent on slaying our own kin.

O Janardana, what joy could come to us from killing the sons of Dhritarashtra? Sin alone would cling to us if we slew these aggressors.

The righteous who eat what remains after sacrifice are freed from all faults. Those sinful ones who cook only for their own sake — they eat only sin.

The gods, nourished by sacrifice, shall bestow upon you the enjoyments you desire. One who enjoys their gifts without offering back to them is truly a thief.

Why should we not know to turn away from this sin, we who clearly see the evil in the destruction of the family, O Janardana?

Even if they, with minds overtaken by greed, do not see the wrong in destroying the family and the sin in betraying friends —

Those who have climbed the tree of worldly existence fall into the ocean of torment. Salutations to the Guru who draws them all back up and delivers them from that fate.

The person who listens to or recites the Bharata becomes cleansed of all sins and ultimately attains the status of Vishnu.

Forgiveness, courage, non-violence, equanimity, truth, sincerity, knowledge, charity, and renunciation are said to be the characteristics of the path that arises from goodness.

The gods, with Brahma at their head, worship your benevolent self, O sinless one. You are everything. You are the creator of the gods and it was you who caused them to be created. Through your grace, the gods pass their time in joy and perfect fearlessness.

whether male or female, all the sins accumulated since birth are destroyed as soon as one bathes in Pushkara

Even if you are the greatest sinner, you can still overcome sin through wisdom.
