Love of Enemy

Distinction goes to the saints, the devotees of God, who extend love to and pray for the well being of even those who possess ill will for them, who treat them as their enemies. It is the devotee who receives honour in the kingdom of God-Nirankar.

Love your enemies as you love yourself, and bless those who curse you.

If you give love in return to one who loves you, what is special in that? Even murderers and robbers can do this much among themselves. The special quality of devotees is that they give love even to those who bear enmity towards them, who wish them ill, and they seek even their good.

The great souls love even those who hate them. If we believe in such great souls, then we too must make such a life, must adopt such feelings, and must always do good to others.

In the world you will find those who do good in return for good, but a person who does good even to the one who does evil is rare.

It is natural for such feelings to arise in your mind. In this age people favour answering a brick with a stone, but those of the saintly path have never followed such a policy. The saintly path has always taught this: wish well even to those who do you evil. Instead of digging up wickedness, throw dust over it. By discussing wrongful deeds, nothing comes of it except increasing their importance. Besides, our view is that suppressing the evil deeds of the wicked is not our work, but the work of the machinery that maintains law and order in the country. Our view is that the saint should do the saint's work, and the government should do the government's work.

And I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse; and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’

You bless those whom You forgive, and unite them with Yourself.
