God in human nature is a source of living light, and this light shines in darkness, but the darkness does not understand it.

Mortal sin is a rupture of one's nature, leading to spiritual death, inner turmoil, diminished power, blindness to one's actions, sorrow of the spirit, loss of divine grace, erosion of virtue, cessation of good deeds, spiritual aberration, and alignment with the devil, expelling the values of Christianity, trapping one in hell, and ultimately, eternal damnation.

According to St. Augustine, God's righteousness in the Godhead, the Trinity, and all creatures is the source of the greatest joy in heaven.

God created us for Himself, and we can only find rest in Him.

Lord, you created us for yourself, so we cannot find rest except in you.

He does not convert you without your help, as St. Augustine says.

The strong attraction of the soul to the Divine reduces everything to nothingness, and this attraction is manifested on earth as sanctification.
