favour is deceptive and beauty is worthless.

He who loves riches will reap no benefit from them.

For this reason, Solomon, who was well aware of both the evil and the benefit we are talking about, said, 'I knew that there is nothing better for a person than to rejoice and do good in their life.'

However, rejoicing solely for this reason is vanity and deception, as Solomon says: 'Graciousness is deceitful and beauty is vain; the woman who fears God will be praised.'
