Sankaracharya

O Lord of the Universe! O Shiva Sankara! O God of Gods! You who hold the Ganges River in your matted hair!

O Great God! O Auspicious One, with the moon shining on your crown!

I am not the mind, intelligence, ego, or consciousness, nor the senses of hearing, taste, smell, or sight. I am not the elements of ether, earth, fire, water, or air. I am Pure Knowledge and Bliss, I am Śiva, I am Śiva.

The Self is the Inner Ruler of all beings and cannot be contaminated.

Rescue me, helpless as I am, from the uncertain and difficult world.

Sankaracharya retained the ego of Knowledge in order to teach people.
