Disregard such a weak thought. Can someone with a noble heart think like the common crowd? What is the value of family ties? Can one benefit from a brother?

A person who looks at their father's or mother's name with foolish reverence has little sense. No one has a right to claim anything from others.

Mortals have a brief possession of their father, mother, house, and wealth. The good and wise will never value such an uncertain and temporary dwelling.

I only mourn for those who follow the path of duty, for they suffer endless sorrow here and ultimately lead to destruction.

There is no afterlife, so be wise and follow my advice. Enjoy your present happiness, my lord, and dismiss thoughts of unseen things.
