Every human soul has the potential to be divine.
Universal
Baba Hardev Singh Ji
Baba Hardev Singh Ji was the third spiritual head of the Sant Nirankari Mission from 1980 to 2016, transforming it into a truly global humanitarian and spiritual organisation recognised by the United Nations. He was celebrated worldwide for his message of universal love, human unity, and service to humanity irrespective of religion, caste, or nationality.
Born in Delhi in 1954 as the son of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, Baba Hardev Singh Ji assumed spiritual leadership of the Sant Nirankari Mission in 1980 at the age of 25 following his father's assassination. Over the next three-and-a-half decades he guided the mission's transformation into an internationally recognised spiritual and humanitarian body, earning it special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). His philosophy of 'humanity is one family under one God' resonated across cultures, and he regularly participated in interfaith dialogues and international peace forums. Under his leadership the mission undertook large-scale humanitarian initiatives including blood donation drives, environmental campaigns, and disaster relief efforts, earning wide recognition from civil society and governments. He passed away in a road accident in Montreal, Canada, in 2016, leaving behind a global community of millions of devotees bound by the ideals of love, service, and universal brotherhood.
Wisdom
The veil of ignorance clouds our vision and deceives us into seeing others as strangers.
Religion unites and never divides.
We have been given this human life to understand the all-pervading, omnipresent God. This knowledge can only be given by someone who has themselves realized God. Life becomes truly happy only after meeting such a God-realized person.
The mind does not become tranquil until it is connected to the ever-peaceful Supreme Being.
We can attain peace of mind only by following what Gurbani teaches.
The root cause of a person's suffering is their pride. Even if someone makes a sacrifice, they can still get caught up in their own pride. What is the point of such a sacrifice? It is pride, or ego, that should be sacrificed. That is where true happiness and bliss are found.
Desires are like a raging fire: no matter how much we feed it, it will continue to rage on, needing an infinite amount of fuel.
When a person makes their mind the dwelling of God, they are completely blissful.
Devotion does not mean running away from your duties; instead, fulfilling your responsibilities is true devotion.
True religion teaches us to come together, rise above all kinds of discrimination, and treat all beings as children of the same Supreme Father, serving and loving them selflessly and genuinely.
Pride, whether based on caste, state, language, or the strength of one's body, mind, or wealth, always gives rise to feelings of hatred and jealousy.
Everything we do, including rituals and rites, is useless without knowledge of God.
My conviction has grown stronger that the dream of a 'Global Family' will soon become a reality.
We should not be content with just this; instead, we should not rest until this message of truth reaches every home.
All that brings happiness in life is achieved through the grace of the company of saints. The more we attend congregations, the more our life becomes enriched with saintly qualities. Our heart begins to absorb love and humility, which are the sources of all kinds of happiness.
Our mind becomes enlightened in such a way that we start seeing the image of God in every person. This makes us realize that no one is our enemy or stranger.
Saints always show love only. The world may show any amount of hatred, but we must not leave our path of love.
The one who carries love in their heart will distribute love only, and the one who has hatred within will give hatred only.
You saints, however, must wish for the welfare of all. This feeling takes root in the heart only when we see the image of the Formless One - God, in each and every human being.
